Arna has been painting her bright eye-catching NZ landscapes for the last 20 years. She has over this time produced numerous artworks and been involved in many exhibitions in nz. Her works have sold all around the world and can be found in Private Collections in the UK, USA, NZ, Dubai, China, Europe, Japan, China, Australia and Canada.
"Largely self taught I enjoyed pencil sketching from an early age and was often found outside sketching from as young as 5. In my early years we lived in very isolated locales ie/on a lighthouse in the middle of Bass Straight (Australia) and also on a wildlife sanctuary before moving back to NZ on the west coast of the south island before moving to christchurch.
arna first began painting flaxes transposing them into vivid landscapes from the Southern Alps, MacKenzie Country to Coromandel beaches. This lead to the addition of various NZ icons and imagery in her work. Her latest paintings feature native birds,mountains and floral studies.
from her studio she uses acrylic paint and glazing techniques on canvas to achieve a depth of intensity to her paintings. She has been represented in many galleries throughout New Zealand from Queenstown to Auckland, and her work has featured in the London NZ High Commission Office, and on several NZ cards and art calendars. Arna has also for many years worked with Save the Children Fund and several other HIGH PROFILE commercial clients
